Gotcha Day

Weekends are busy when both kiddos are involved with sport now. Sophie started soccer. With 16 girls on the team, she is not too sure about games yet and there were some tears. Big brother Alex will have to give her some tips sometime.

New Tool

Both kids got their new tool at school this past week: a brand new iPad! Alex gets to take it home everyday to do his homework (and play a few games). Sophie's stays at school until she's in 3rd grade. How cool is that!?!

The passion for reading continues. Alex has been devouring chapter books for the past 6 months or so and can't get enough. It's very quiet sometimes at home. Who would have thought that such an active boy could just lay down and read for hours?

Sophie is enjoying everything craft. She is the artist of the family and Maman keeps bringing scratch paper from work to supply the artist.

I can read just about anywhere

Fun Weekends

Summer is simply going too fast this year! We took a walk in the "forest" at Lakeside Nature Center. Fox Hollow is a trail there and sure enough we saw two foxes! We always enjoy KC's Ethnic Enrichment Festival each year - great food and culture. And we had Papa's cousin visit from Germany with her family.

School

Kids are growing up in front of our very eyes. Alex is now in 3rd grade and Sophie just started Kindergarten today. Alex the big brother will show Sophie the ropes at school now.

Alex, aka Mr. cool guy, almost ran to his classroom without looking back. Sophie wasn't too sure about Maman leaving the classroom this morning but she did great. Way to go, kids!
