A 5 am phone call from school woke us up. A snow day? Really? Just for 2" that melted the same day... At least Alex & Sophie (and Papa) enjoyed their day off.

Sophie's most cherished and spoiled Squishmallow is turning one today. She wanted to take the day off from school. The answer was of course no. So she made his birthday desserts the weekend before. Welcome to parenthood, Sophie!

This week is kindness week in middle school.
We received an email from Sophie's teacher: "Sophie has been selected as this week's Marvelous Knight. This is what we call our student of the week. To qualify to be a Marvelous Knight, students have to be an all-around great person and Sophie sure is! Sophie found out today during First Hour when she got her certificate from her first hour teacher. Be sure to ask her about it on Monday after school."
So we asked Sophie. She said that she got the certificate but has no idea why... She added that Alex never got such an award, so that alone made her day. Gotta love it!
