Marching Festival

The SM high schools gathered to practice their song - before competing against other school districts.

Kermit 2.0

Here is another green car on the high school parking lot. Kermit 2.0? Nope. Sophie will keep her beloved Kermit!

BB Park

The city of OP built a new park in honor of twin city Bietigheim-Bissingen in Germany. Papa has traveled with the high school orchestra and visited this town in Baden-Württemberg multiple times.

Brand new park with a bocce court.

Park dedication ceremony.

Jon & the high school orchestra played for the occasion.

The German delegation was invited to a Chiefs game
the night before. Where was Papa's ticket?!?

Family Day

This Family Day feels very strange this year with Alex so far away. We're still celebrating by eating Vietnamese food - just separately now. Here are a couple of pictures of the KC celebration. Still awaiting pictures from the full-time bio-chemistry student... Blog content, Alex!

Papa is feeling quite silly tonight.

We're eating pho of course!

Happy Gotcha Day, Alex!

In absence of current pictures from Alex, Maman dug
up this gem from 10 years ago. Already a chemist!

Walk

Last walk of the summer. Can you believe fall season starts tomorrow?

MI Game

Papa has been traveling to Lincoln three weekends in a row. Is that why it's called "Nebraska the good life"?

Wait. How many brothers can you take to the game?
Uncle Vern wants in too!

The Huskers hosted a party for local farmers. How convenient.

Well, somebody didn't get the memo apparently.

Balloons when the Huskers score. We need a few more points...

Wash

A miracle happened: Sophie agreed to wash Archie! He needed it after 3 years of constant cuddles, kisses, and eating Nutella on the bed...

The artist drew her best friend.

Archie in a pillow case on delicate cycle taking a bath.

Before and after. All clean!

Newton

Third stop: Newton.

Always great to see Mark and Alice!

Can't beat Kansas sunsets over a cornfield.

Does it look like a woman who needs any
encouragement to stay salty? Asking for a friend.

Thinking of the Hartman family.

Hutch

Second stop: Hutchinson.

The Morton girl sure stays salty over the years.

Pretty morning sky.

Bye, Hutch evap plant! See you next time!

Lyons

Maman traveled to central Kansas for work. First stop: Lyons, population 3,000.

Who knew you could roar like a lion in Lyons!

The French flag is here!

Lyons has the world's largest salt shaker est. 2025.

Cute little town.

Lyons Salt has been around since 1917. Feeling salty today?

Girl Time

With kids now in college and spouses watching football or soccer, this mean more girl time!

Sook made beef bulgogi - with Morton salt!

Delicious Korean meal in the books.

Game Day

It's Sophie's turn to go watch the Huskers. The main attraction is pizza and cotton candy - to her father's dismay... But wait, there is the marching band too!

College marching band in action.

Go Huskers!

Farm Kittens

Before heading to the game, Sophie had to stop at the farm to check out the kitten situation there.

New kittens!

And they are not afraid to be pet. Dolores & Katie can attest.

These kittens like to push each other's buttons. Sounds familiar?

Papa, will you notice if I put this one in the trunk?

Shopping

Shopping is always a fun experience when Sophie comes along to check out the new toys and stuffed animal situation at the stores.

It's Capy (the capybara) and Archie (the axolotl)!

No, you cannot bring this humongous panda in our house!

Huskers

The brothers are back in Nebraska on Saturdays for a new Cornhuskers football season.

One looks more excited than the other. Hum...

Getting ready for a big win.

Go Big Red!

What it's all about: eating a Runza sandwich at the stadium.

Band Game

First football game for the high school marching band with new uniforms. Is that Columbia blue? Close enough!

New freshmen joined the percussion team.

Lizzie said: "Give the women what she wants!"
meaning look at her for the picture...

Getting ready for the half-time show.

Glimpse of the show they have been practicing since July.
