To get into the holiday spirit, we attended our first KC Symphony concert.

Looking forward to some great music

Will the kids behave?

Of course!

Loved the lights and of course music!

Grateful

Grateful for stuffed animals in this house.

And that's not even all the animals on my bed!

My homies.

Deco

Saturday was 55 degrees and everyone was out doing yard work. A blizzard arrived on Sunday. Everyone is staying home making cookies and hanging up Christmas decorations.

Welcome!

Oma's German wood village

More of Omas' Christmas decorations

Who has been naughty? Who has been nice?
Dolores' mittens are ready.

Time to light up candles for next week

Ten Thousand Villages decorations

Who needs a mantel when you can display pictures on a rod?

The tree is ready but I don't see any presents yet.
Is that perhaps because I snooped around and found
where they are hidden?!?

Winter wonderland

I would rather stay home

A good thing that schools decided to close on Monday!

Leaf Pile

Throwing kids in the leaf pile has been a tradition at Mark and Alice's house. This year is no different, except for the fact that Kristin wasn't home.

Too much fun!

Here is Alex's turn

Slow mow courtesy of Johnny

I can jump high!

Wow, just wow!

Thanksgiving

We had a nice Thanksgiving holiday with Alice's family. How special to always feel included!

Starting off with a great breakfast

Hello

Hello new car! Welcome to this crazy lovely family! We hope you will like it here, as the kids promised not to put their feet on the driver seat and keep crumbs at bay. Mal sehen!

Time to take it home!

Here we are!

Alex wrote the speech and Sophie was supposed to
deliver it this time...

But Alex ended up doing the speech!

Farewell

Today marked a milestone in our car family. We are bidding farewell to the van. The van joined our family a couple of weeks before Sophie was born. Papa decided it was time for a new vehicle. In honor of the van which served us well over the past 8 years, Sophie wrote the speech but her brother had to deliver it. On the mike, so that the whole neighborhood could hear it...

Bye bye grey van!

That's quite a speech and owner interview!

Waiting patiently for the new car.

Stay tune! I'll have a new report tomorrow.

New Belt

Alex had another belt exam on Saturday. Going from green to blue. This time Mark's family was there to watch the entire test, a whole hour and a half of it. Way to go Alex and family!

Starting off with some punches

Different levels taking the test at the same time

Let's hear it!

Good job!

Kicking is what I like

I have to remember all these steps!

Getting a new belt and putting the old one around the neck

I got my new belt!

Congratulations!

Visit

Mark and family came for a short visit this weekend to attend Serb Fest.

Aunt Alice, check out my hand stand!

Guys watching college football with dessert

Girls decided to go shopping instead

Cupcakes: is that really a Serb dessert?!?

After Game

We stopped by Melissa and John's new house after the NE game last weekend. The kids had fun playing together.

Cornhuskers

Saturday was a first for some of us: we attended our first college football game - ever. Papa insisted we all go see the Nebraska Cornhuskers play at Lincoln. So might as well be the coldest game in the past 25 years, since we are breaking new grounds here. We all barely survived.

Thanks Dolores and Vern for hosting us

Before the great freeze

What do you mean this is
an outdoor stadium?!?

We're in!

Memorial Stadium

We're surrounded by Huskers fans!

Starting

Here come the Huskers!

Mom, I don't want to watch that!
OK, time for a Runza run!

Alex, do you want to play in that college band?

Half-time band music
Read my frozen lips: this is the last time I do this!

Nebraska won vs. Illimois

Time to find the car to take all these layers off
