We spent the weekend at Oma's house. The kids enjoyed their ritual of making spaetzle and eating Aufschnitt. We even got a little snow. Will this winter ever go away?!?

Who ordered all of this snow for maman's birthday? Schools were closed today because of the snow storm. Maman decided that she'd better work from home, as cleaning snow off her car at the office shouldn't be part of the birthday package this year.

After the year of the Snake, here comes the year of the Horse. While Alex is fascinated by snakes, Sophie much prefers horses, so it's going to be a fun year again.
We celebrated this special time of the year at the Families Blessed event gathering about 200 kids, parents and grandparents. Sophie was a little scared of the lion and dragon dances, but keeps talking about them pretty much all year round. Alex had a blast making crafts, watching the show and running around with his friends.
