Time to restain Opa & Oma's old picnic table. It belonged to another family before, so who knows how old it is. If the table could talk, it would share plenty of memorable meal stories.

The school decided that there would be no more cake served to students as it takes too much time for the kitchen staff to make. Papa felt a little French when he heard that and disregarded the orders. Did Maman finally rub off on him? He made the cake anyway and the elementary school students thanked him for that. Papa the chocolate cake hero!

Overland Park's twin city is Bietigheim-Bissigen in Germany. The high school German music students are back. Papa became tour guide for a day. Ulrike came for supper. She had stayed with us twice over the years. She barely recognized Alex & Sophie who have grown so much since her last visit.

Camp Mennoscah's men & boys' retreat became men retreat this year. Alex' social calendar is far too busy, so Papa went on his own this time.
