Oma's Visit

Oma came for a week to help us celebrate Sophie's birthday and see how the "city kids" spend their time. Between school carnival, a party, swimming lessons, and soccer practice, Oma kept busy keeping up with the energizer bunnies of the house.

Mama made a giraffe cake for Sophie's birthday party. It was certainly not as sophisticated as papa's Dodge Viper cake - can't compete with the master baker!

Who is the man of the house, now?

Oma, check out my new game!

Thanks Oma for the book and puzzle

Sophie turns 3

Happy Birthday, Sophie! Three years ago we were blessed to welcome Sophie into this world. She has grown so much! From no hair to a head with some curls. From blue eyes to brown eyes. From silent to talking in full sentences and asking "why?" - like her brother. From PJ's to pretty dresses and looking at herself in the mirror. That's our girly girl!

Retreat

Alex and Papa got to a "men and boys retreat" last weekend at Camp Mennoscah. This was Alex's first camp and he had a lot of fun seeing friends from Newton.

Since the boys were "out of the house" for a whole weekend, did this not not become a girls' retreat for Sophie and maman then?

What did we do before DVD players on long car trips?

That's how we make popcorn without a microwave!

This river is quite intriguing. Can we come back next year?

Soccer

Alex started soccer about a month ago and seems to enjoy it. Check out number 57! If only all this running would make him go to sleep faster... maybe someday.

Run, Alex!

MCC Sale

We spend the weekend at Oma's house to go to the annual Nebraska MCC Sale. Alex participated in the children's auction and got himself a new crane and construction vehicles to share with Sophie.

I love it when Oma reads my favorite book to me

Henry, where are you? I need you to play with me!!!

Snake

2013 is the year of the snake. And guess what? I found a snake in our front yard! How exciting! I'm sure Aunt Linda can't wait to hear all about it...

Too bad he ran away...

Easter

Rain or no rain, Sophie wanted to wear her pretty yellow dress. While Alex is all boy, she is definitely all girl and enjoys wearing beautiful new dresses and shoes.
